Heuristic Evaluation

The heuristic evaluation is a test for finding usability problems in any user interface i.e website, app, software product etc. To put it simply, the test helps us to determine if your website is user friendly. The test is based on a set of predetermined heuristics to which we measure your website against. There are over 200+ heuristics that can be used but the most commonly used include the “10 usability heuristics for user interface design” by Jacob Nielsen, which is what we here in Armour use for our own tests. The evaluation is typically conducted by 1- 2 UX professionals and requires 3 – 4 days to complete. Armour will analyse your website and record all our findings into a short and concise report which will also offer suggestions to any usability problems we discover.

Why does it benefit you?

The first step in creating or improving any product is to first understand the product. A heuristic evaluation provides both Armour and you a greater insight into your current website / app / product. This report will clearly outline any problems or issues with your current interface while also providing you with clear solutions to these problems. A heuristic evaluation is just one of the many different UX services we provide in Armour. To get us to perform an evaluation on your site, you can fill out our contact form here.
