The Problem
Galway Races came to us with a unique challenge. In over one hundred years of racing at Ballybrit, the Galway Races has gone from strength to strength with now in excess of 150,000 poeple attending the week long festival every year. They had worldwide recognition as a top class racing event for racegoers, while also being the pinnacle of the fashion calendar with the renowned Ladies’ day. Their online presence, however, was lagging behind.
The approach
Our UX team conducted research on the many different types of users and stakeholders. Personas and user journeys were referred to in the creation of Wireframes. The resulting blueprints outlined the layout, content and navigation flows for different screen sizes, with emphasis on mobile.

The Result
The result is not only a visually appealing site, but is also an easy to use, versatile and fully functional website for the needs of many different types of users. Revenues generated through the site have continued to increase since the overall relaunch in 2016, and we have worked with the Galway Races to maintain and improve the site through newly designed and developed sections such as the hospitality pages to server side services to cater for the large number of users. 2020 will see the launch of the brand new ticketing system for the festival, which will be ready for whenever things return back to normal.
