Needs Analysis is the first step in the project
After your initial enquiry, the Product Development team arranges a follow-up meeting to gather all the information we need to progress the project. Often, we provide a Preliminary Discovery document which provides a foundation for the Needs Analysis. You can assist by filling in this form, or we can meet and run through the questions to extract the detail required. The ultimate goal of the Needs Analysis phase is to allow us to understand at a high-level, the scope of the project; what documentation or research you have already, and what services you require from Armour. We need to understand the Business Needs, User Experience Needs, Technical Needs and Design Needs.
Business Needs
Understanding the business objectives is a key element to the success of the project. During the Needs Analysis, we will determine the commercial goals, operational goals, timing requirements, budgetary requirements, product vision, roadmap and any connected flows. We also look at possible risks to the business from external sources such as compliance, security, potential hacking, legacy code and future development risk.

User Experience Needs
User Experience (UX) Needs is another key element to the success of the project. Your business will have internal Key Stakeholder Users and External Users and or Customers. Whilst conducting the UX Needs, we identify the known or planned user base for internal and external users. If previous research has been done into this area, we can analyse this or can suggest a UX phase going forward. The deliverables of the UX team from the Needs Analysis is a document that identifies the known user base and suggested next steps in the UX process. Time estimates will be provided for varies activities within the project.
Technical Needs
Technical Needs identifies the proposed Development requirements and possible integrations. This part of the Needs Analysis allows the development team time to analyse existing products if they exist, or in the case of a new product, time to work with your team to outline the functional requirements of the product. In both scenarios, the deliverables of the development team post Needs Analysis, is the production of a Functional Requirements Specification, the time estimate for detailed System Requirements Specification and high-level time estimates for the full project.

Design Needs
Understanding your brand and the creative direction is part of the Needs Analysis. Your business may require a Logo, Branding, DSM, supporting corporate website, or supporting Graphic Design Artwork. If your business has an established brand and creative direction, Armour can adhere to brand guidelines and work with your Design System Manager (DSM). Armour’s design team will identify the required design services, and any on-going design support that may be needed, during the Needs Analysis as part of the scope of the project.
